  1. Entries are due at tag–in on December 3, 2005 or post–marked by December 3, 2005.
    1. Entry fee is $15 per pen of three birds and must accompany the official entry form. Mail to:

      Contact George Thompson (940–482–3683) about delivery of chickens.
    2. Purchase of broilers must be paid for a tag–in. All entries must pay a $35 deposit in addition to the entry fee at tag–in to defray the cost of ordering the pens of chicks.
    3. All chicks will be from the same hatch date from Ideal Hatchery. The Division Superintendent will receive the birds and contact the leaders for picking–up arrangements. Exhibitors will be notified about the cost of the hatch. (25 birds).
    4. All entries at tag–in will be responsible for the cost of the pens even if they decide not to participate in the contest.

    Following the judging for all entries except for the 8 pen who will stay for the sale.
  3. Entries are subject to the general rules.
  4. Under Houston rules, a “pen” is composed of three birds, off of one sex of commercial breeds only.
  5. There is no upper weight limit.
  6. Each exhibitor is to bring small cups or containers to feed and water the birds.
  7. Awards will be given through eighth place. Grand and Reserve Champions and third and fourth place will sell in the Auction Sale on Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. Fifth through eighth places will sell in the Silent Auction beginning at 12:30 p.m. This is a terminal show for the Grand and Reserve Champion Market Broilers, and they must be slaughtered.
  8. Only one bird need be taken into the sale ring for the sale.
  9. Exhibitors agree to dress and deliver the three birds to buyer if it is the desire of the buyer. Exhibitor will ask the buyer immediately following the purchase.
  10. Broiler exhibitors are expected to clean their exhibit area before leaving the fair. Cages and barrels not needed for the sale will be returned to the storage barn. The area will be swept clean if necessary.
